Fly costs?

A buddy and I have been getting a quite a few requests to tie up nymphs, eggs and streamers. On average how much do you typically spend on them?

Somewhere between 1.25 and 1.50. IMO it would be very hard to make a living by tying. You have to do it for the love of it.

Most flies that I have seen run about $1.75.
It probably would be a bit hard to make much money unless you are really fast but Hey I would sure love to spend my days tying flies instead of sitting in the office :)

We aren't trying to make a living out of it. We get a lot of request for flies that are sometimes difficult to find in certain colors and sizes. I was just kinda wondering about the average costs from around the state.
Some of the stores around Saginaw charge 1.79 for streamers/nymphs and they look like crap.
Wouldn't that be a great job though?
