I have been told by many people that a removable split shot will twist my leader and make the fly drift funny. I was wondering your opinions on this subject!
I hate using the earless split shot because it seems like every other hole/run requires more or less weight and you can't remove weight without re-tying!

Weezer, I don't use split shot at all.I weight my streamers and nymph's when I tie them, I put the weight near the rear of the hook. works good for me. Hope this helps....

I hear 'ya Weezer and yes it will. I primarily notice it when I put it on wooley buggers. I fish a floating line and have messed with sink tips and other stuff to get the fly down but as yet haven.t found anything as effective a split shot. What I have done often is tie in a small swivel 3-4' above the fly, between the leader and the tippet. That has help alot. We must fish alot alike, I like to feel it tick bottom from time to time.
