I shot one of these today and I was very impressed. I have shot a lot of bows and never have I said to myself (wow that thing shoots way different than anything I have ever shot) but yep thats what I said to myself.:yikes: I will hunt with one next season.

Is it really that much better than the Switchback or new Bowtechs. I haven't tried it yet, but I want to.

They're pretty nice. Real Nice actually.
I've never really been a Hoyt guy personally. They make nice bows, just not my cup of tea....but I've shot that Trykon a few times now and it has me thinking.
I may need one too ;)
PS...Don't tell Swamp....I'll never hear the end of it

I can't tell if it's the limb angle moving toward the parrallel or the new riser layout (probably a little of both) but it's extremely quiet and plenty quick too.
I shot it "stock" ...no sight and just janky "shop setup" rest...I'm going to set one up at when I get time and play a bit and let you know.

OK I want this bow, very bad! One problem though, I havent seen a price tag for it im guessing 600 but have no clue. Can someone give me the price for this beauty thanks.

I like the looks of that also .I'm sure if I go up to Schubach's and shoot one , I'll be hooked. My Magna-Tec is ready for the retirement hanger, but how do I convince this to my wife, who thinks a bow should last as long as a gun
Anyone have a price on what one of these goes for ?

Price depends on where you shop ofcourse, but I would bet in the upper $700.
Last years Ultra Tecs ran any where from $729-$769 and I bet these will be in that price range, maybe more. Some shops were selling the high end Hoyt hunting bows for as low as $679 last year, but the Ultra Tecs were always higher. Hopefully these can be found in the low $700's.....I want one but hard to justify with a perfectly good Ultra Tec. And considering I bowhunted a total of 1 evening this year........

bow technology updates every year, and in 3 years this bow will be past its prime and ready to be replaced again........ where a gun will last for as long as you take care of it....... but my dad shot his bow for 22 years before he bought the ultratec..............

I was looking at 06 bows last week, and although I did not shoot any of them yet, the Hoyt felt heavy to me.

Light bows are no longer the thing to have. It was a bunch of hype 5 or 6 years ago that you needed a light bow. Now, most folks have realized they shoot better with a little weight on their bow arm. Now, not the 6-7 pounds fully rigged bows of the past, but a moderate amount of weight is good. Look at even the short bows like the outback....still about 4#'s before rigged. Far easier to hold steady. And weight means something is beefier, like the risor, which in turn will help dampen vibration, increase stiffness etc.

I shot the trykon last wednesday nice bow. I did notice a little vibration in the riser though. Next time you have it in your hands tap on the riser and listen to it. not as quiet as my bowtech. but still really nice.

I also shot this bow the other day( We have 3 Trykons and 2 Trykon XLs in Stock). After reading all the positive posts on this bow, and seeing the pictures of the Trykon, I was pretty excited to shoot one for the first time.
In the hand it feels real nice(good grip, balances well). The problem is that is about all the compliments I can give this bow(Comparing to Swithback, Allegiance, or Tribute)
I thought the draw cycle was very poor, I have shot for a very long time and I always like to ease into the back wall when I draw. I found almost impossible to do so with this new cam. The letoff really snaps over fast, not the gradual slope most of the newer bows feature. The bow does hold against the wall really nice.
As far the hand shock, vibration, and string twang. The Trykon does not even come close to being as smooth as the Switchback, Allegiance, or the Tribute. IMO the new string silencers they used are absolutely junk. They should have stuck with the leaches.
Overall I think the Tykon is a good bow, but it sure didn't live up to the Hype for me!!! Before I shot it I was considering buying one, but after shooting it side by side against the Allegiance and the Tribute, I have narrowed my choices down to those two.
