Beautiful weather Saturday morning , son and I drive 1hr north to Hesperia to our spot on private property that unfortunately has state land on 2 sides of it, only to find that some a-hole stole my 12 yr sons tree stand Friday afternoon!
Its one of them situations were you think you know who did it but you just can't prove it!

Sad. Let this be a lesson to you though. We all know that not everyone out there is as honest as you are. With public land so close, I doubt I'd ever leave a stand hanging when I wasn't strapped into it.

Don't let this ruin your hunt though. It is tough to deal with, but you can't look backwards. Look forward and hope for that big one.

I believe Michigan has an open season for stand stealers. :p

Chain up you stand from now on. If you catch the suspect trespassing on your land in any way call the C.O. and report it, also tell the C.O. that you suspect this individual of stealing your stand. Let the law handle any problems you may have, its the easiest way.

I took down two stand I left up until late summer.

Public land...let's just say they are hard to find.

I have had many things stolen...life goes on. Just pass the values on!

You could also monitor with a digicam.

My buddy had BOTH his stands stolen last weekend. Both were in private property, both were chained and locked to the trees they were in. Someone had to have had a BIG bolt cutters to get them off the trees. Needless to say he is PISSED!!!!!
