The best is whatever you try and like the best.. LOL Everyone is going to say something different... But I would have to say HHA... The Opti-Tune D.A.R.T.
I absolutly love this rest... Comes in camo too... If you like single pin, thier sights are bad *** too...

Right now I believe the two best drop away on the market are the Trophy Ridge Drop zone and the Bo-Doodle drop away. These are very quite and easy to set up.

I've had a Muzzy zero effect for three years now and love it. I lay it flat on my lap with my release and arrow knocked at all time so all I have to do is draw it back and I'm ready. I also use a peep w/hose, kisser button, and one fiber optic sight set at 20y. It's almost completely idiot proof.

I was where you are at now last year. I put the WB on the shelf and installed a QAD Ultra-Rest right after the season ended. Figured if I shot it all year and didn't like it then I could always put the WB back on and go hunting. What a difference, full containment and a drop away, I love it. The WB is still on the shelf. Hope this helps.

Why do you think you need to change???
WB is a great hunting rest!!
If you want to be more accurate buy a gun :bash:
I wish I could put a drop away on my recurve!!!
Stick with the WB unless you are planning to shoot in the olympics.

I was also thinking about putting a drop away on my bow. Are these quiet while drawing back the arrow? If they are somewhat loud like my 2 prong rest, how do you silence them?
Thanks for the help,
steve

They are like any 2 prong rest... Use a bit of mole skin or silicone covers... My grouping was tight before, but after the drop away, it has shrunk up even more... I love mine...
As far as a WB goes, noisy, tears up your fletching over time, and not accurate enough for me... There great for the weekend bow hunter that wants to be able to put an arrow on and hang thier bow upside down... j/k and YES, I want more accuracy... Any one can shoot a gun accuratly, I love the challenge of shooting a bow accuratly.. Very accuratly...

I agree, The WB to be almost a waist of time if you shoot alot. You will spend more time refletching your arrows then on the range or in the woods. I have shot plunger, fork, drop aways, I even shoot a recurve and long bows. There is no better challege then shooting a bow and hitting the bulleyes at any distance. It is even more of challege getting a Whitetail deer into bow range.
So, you do not have to go to the Olympics to shoot a drop-away you will just get the best groups that way as long as it is set up properly.

I'm using the rip cord drop away and really like it. I had the muzzy and it was a good rest, but I wanted to be able to contain my arrow before the shot and the rip cord was the only rest to do both contain and drop away well.

Do the Drop-away rests Change very easily when bumped? I was always worried about bumping them, and then them not being consistent. has anyone ever had a problem with them getting bumped around?

I assume others are the same, but I know my HHA is solid... Bumping won't do any more than any rest...

I have been using the Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter for the last 3 seasons and have never done anything to it. No adjustments at all, I have not even had to change the moleskin. Great rest!

I have used the Trap Door fall away rest for three years now. With the fall away rest I noticed a tremendous increase in my acccuracy and hence confidence while in the stand. I've never used the WB but I have heard and read many posts about a loss in accuracy especially at longer ranges. For my two cents, try any fall away rest and I'm sure you will be happy. I know I am after harvesting 2 ten-points, three eight-points, and one six point later. :)

I have been using the Zero Effect since they came out. Had one on a Q2 (which was stolen) and now have one on a LX. I like the fact that there aren't any cables or springs, the rest is tide into you bow by a bolt and a solid arm. Never had a single problem with them. Best paper tune I've ever seen. Absolutely no draw noise if you put a little mole skin on the craddle. The only modification I made was to the craddle, I cut an inch or so off the pointy end because it seemed to get caught on everything.

For a Mathews -- Get a Schaefer. Built solid and excellent design. I have had one on my LX for two years now with over 1000 shots and it has performed flawlessly. They are actually built to match Mathews bows and camo.
I don't think you'll find them at Cabela's or most large shops. I think they are exclusive to Mathews dealers pretty much. But I'm not sure. You do need to check them out before you decide.

Had atrap do micro on my Avalanche set as sensitive as possible. Was out shooting one day and flung an arrow into the neighbor's yard. The Trap door didnt fall. Switched to a Drop Zone the very same day. No problems.

look at vital bow gear drop aways i have a 04 model and i love it im also a former w/b shooter you would be better off with any drop away than the w/b . the thing i like about vital bow gear, is the arrow holder its like having a w/b without the garbage it does to your arrows. www.vitalbowgear.com (http://www.vitalbowgear.com/)

i've got the quik tune drop away. Nice rest...but wish it had the same principal as the WB for something to hold it into place without the hand. Cable attachment to string.
Probably not the best out there, but pricewise won't run you near some of these others listed., Accuracy is good

Schaffer Mat-1 in my opinion is the single best drop away you can buy. Simplicity in design and bullet proof. I get exceptional groups out of mine and can't believe that I shot without one for some time.
I'd go with the Schaffer. I don't think they are commercially available (Cabela's, Gander mtn, etc...). But pro shops (Particularly Mathews dealers) should hook you up.

this is my second year of shooting the drop zone and love it. tried the whisker and then the muzzy and ended up with the drop zone.
I put a drop zone on my new Bowtech. The NAP I was using wouldn't work, because of lack of cable guard movement. I really like it so far, not that I didn't like the NAP. Don't think you could go wrong with either one. I do like the fact that witht he Drop Zone, if the arrow slips off the foam arrow holder and lodges against the riser, it will recenter when you draw. That works great for the way I normally hold my bow when hunting.

In my opinion trophey taker is by far the most durable and reliable on the market. nothing fancy to break. I use it for 3d tourneys and spot shooting. http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/photopost/data/520/medium/Picture_0151.jpg.
