My Hoyt UltraTec is outfitted with a QAD UltraRest. I love it.

It has basically functioned flawlessly. I've never had an issue with it not falling completely until this past weekend. I was out in sub-freezing conditions and noticed that it would not drop completely. Once the sun came up and it warmed up, it went back to working perfectly.

Needless to say I was bummed.

I called QAD today and they were extremely helpful and told me that this was a KNOWN issue, and that the problem is CORRECTED. They are sending me a new rest and I will send my current one back when I get the new one.

I was impressed with their willingness to help and sincere care about getting the problematic rests out of the hands of consumers. It seems like that is getting harder and harder to come by.

I figured that I'd post the note in here for anyone else using this rest as an FYI.

I knew the rest had to be suitable for cold climates as I believe someone said a reputable pro shop around here installs one of these rests on every bow. It's probably because I got my bow down in Georgia

Good luck, shoot str8.

P.S. I think that I will stick the new rest in the freezer for a few hours and test it before it goes on the bow... :dizzy:

This was a problem with some of the QAD's up until last year, they have now corrected the problem and all the newer versions shoud be trouble free. Mine has never failed me.

Sub-freezing where?? Must not have been here...

There was a widely known issue at proshops that keep informed, with the early models, but I had heard that was rectified after the first year of production. I have had no problems with mine...knock-on-wood.

Good Luck!

Actually, both monday and tuesday were cold in mid-michigan. I had ice forming on my stand both mornings and it didn't melt until 8:00-8:30. The wind and heat finally gave us a little bit of a break those two days, although the highs were still a little excessive.

Yes, they said it was a first-year production issue. My guess is that the folks in GA were never informed of the issue, simply because the majority of the weather down there isn't cold enough.

Just glad to see that they will take care of it.

How long has this rest been available?

Thanks.
