Looks like they went to the Binary Cam system on every bow in their line up this year. Wonder why?

I have an '05 TomKat that has the single cam.

Why ? It works for them .I think they are trying to seperate themselves from the competition by offering something different in cam design .

The infinity cam is very efficient and a great cam. A couple other companies even used these cams on their own bows (Wheeler and Diamond before Bowtech bought them) but the sliding draw stop made it possible for people to "untune" them without the proper precautions.

If you set it to roll too far it can eat your cable very quickly. Great design but you have to really read the manual for every specific model to make sure you know what your doing.

Actually it's not unlike teh Equalizer now....take the drawstop out and draw it and it'll lock....that would suck.

They make the most efficient cams on the market though.

The Binary Cam system is all they sell under the Bowtech name. They still sell the Freedom Cam under the Diamond name.

Same reason Hoyt switched everything to the hybrid cams. A more efficient cam, more accurate, and less apt to go out of tune because of lack of string stretch.

An aggressive cams like solo cams, the strings are incredibly long and stretch something fierce requiring lots of maintanence and retuning.

The binary cam is simply a cam that can't ever go out of time even with string stretch. It's a far superior design.

I found this on another forum. Not sure how much truth there is to it but apparently Kevin Strother posted it...

Kevin Strother No Longer W/bowtech..........

I Would Like To Tell All Of The Archery World That As Of Today I Will No Longer Be Designing For Bowtech. From 1999 Thru 2006 I Have Designed All Bowtech Models.
After Kate And I Put Up Our Wedding Photo's Yesterday, Bowtech Fired Me While On Medical Leave!!!!!!!!!!!! John Strasheim Fired Me Via' Email For " Not Picking Up My Phone " I Have The Email If Anyone Would Like To See It. So Much For Your Patriotic Company!!
As For Bowtech, You May Want To Find Out Who Will Be Designing There Future Lines???
I Have Personally Seen A Faster, Smoother, Quieter, & Less Exspensive Line Of Bows. You Might Hold Off On Getting That 06 Bowtech If I Were You!!!!!

And Yes There Was And Still Is A Limb Problem. We Worked On It With New Materials, Changed Pre Loads, I Broke 8 Sets On A 06 Tribute In One Day! In R&d We Broke Over 200 Finalizing The Specs For The 06 Line! I Am Not Bashing, Just Letting You Know There Is Still A Problem. I Have Been Gone On Medical Leave For Over 6 Weeks, And They As Far As I Know Never Bothered To Fix The Problem On The 06 Line While I Was Away.

As The Co Founder And V.p Of R&d, I Have Heard As Well As Seen Some Things That Would Make Me Wonder If Your New 06 Bowtech As Well As The Ones You Already Own, Will Still Be Covered By A Bowtech Warranty???.......they Might Not Be Around In 07...just A Thought.

To All That I Have Met Over The Years At Shows, It Has Been Fun. I'll Still See Ya There!!!!

Kevin

That thread on AT got about 30,000+ hits and had hundreds of posts . . . apparently because people love gossip. The guy is obviously a very talented individual, but he is also about as unprofessional as they come. The whole thread he started was ridiculous and served no positive purpose, with people bickering, name calling, brand bashing, and taking sides in a personal dispute between a disgruntled employee and his former employer. I tried to warn the guy that he was going to get sued if he didn’t stop making such public statements, and then I got attacked by some people for giving very sound advice. It was such a joke. I even read a post from the guy’s ex-wife who decided to take some shots at him. Thankfully, after many complaints, AT eventually shut the thread down. I hope that stupidity doesn’t start up here now – I stopped going on AT for a while because that soap opera.

Anyone that thinks Kevin leaving will have any negative impact on Bowtech's sales, quality or R&D and technology is mistaken. Of this I assure you.

Fired for not answering the phone, PLEASE!!!! I guarantee there is more to a story like that. Bowtech are great bows, and I would not hesitate to buy one. In fact, I am checking out the new Tributes right now.

I just purchased a new Btech allegiance and it was by far the fastest, smoothest, quitest bow I shot. I shot about a dozen different bows before I decided on the all.
Only draw back is the price tag. $740 there is no comparison though. I sold my Hoyt to help pay for it.

I just picked up an Allegiance myself. Fast, quiet and extremely efficient. Draw cycle is where the power comes from though. Fierce...

I actually really like the draw on the binary cams. Seems like it loads most of the wieght on the front end. It so fast you can shoot it at 62 and still have the same KE as most at 70.

It'll take me some getting used to...But I never had an issue with the BK, Pat Dually and those were supposed to be evil.

My 02 Mighty Mite was by far the meanest bow I've ever had in that aspect.
