I decided to try bow hunting this year and was "permantly loaned" a Hoyt Fast Flight rated at 55 to 70 lbs. To this novice, it seems to be in good shape and seems to shoot fine. I have no idea of its age or place in the quality spectrum. Can anyone tell me something about this bow? Thanks

Fast flight were the limbs that are on that bow. They had several bows with the fast flight limbs with several different cam options and riser configurations. Some very very forgiving and some just forgiving. A lot of the bows are from the later half of the 90's.

Should still be under warrenty if you need any work done, but the bow should do you just fine. Nothing shoots better then a nicely tuned dually or draws as smooth. Just take it to your local shop and have them tune the bow to your style.

Just an FYI, this Hoyt is not from the Cam n' Half era, it is pre Cam n' Half era....your familiar with this new era right? That would be the era that signaled the end of the single cams dominance in anything? You know, the current era! Just a quick reminder

Oh and welcome to the site, most of us won't hold the mathews thing against ya, but to save face, I wouldn't bring it up much......! ;)

I am shooting a Defiant Fast Flight. Shot another deer with it this year. I am sure I bought this bow about 10 years ago when I was shooting 3D. My how time flies, and technology improves.
Although, I did have this thing shooting over 300 fps at 29", 60# ;)

Honestly, on this site, nobody cares what you shoot, seriously! As long as you shoot, you're all set! We'll have a little fun now and then, but that's all it is! I don't think in all the time I have been here, that anybody as outright critized someone for the brand of bow they shoot. Now, there are sometimes tensions between the traditional and compound guys and the word crossbow always brings some excitement but it's a good bunch all the way around!
