Beavers

I am interested in trapping beavers on my land, but know nothing about it, nor anyone who does. I am less interested in the pelts than removing the beavers, which are causing a fair amount of damage. During most of the season I can only get out to the property once a week. Is there a practical way to trap beavers on this schedule? Is it legal to check traps only once a week? I knew some trappers when i was a kid, and they checked traps everyday, but is that the only way to do it?

There isn't a required check time or limit on traps designed to kill the animal. If you're going to try to hold them alive there is a daily check requirement. Hope this helps.

If you want to take out the entire colony, then put 330's in the entrances to the lodge. Along with any other runways that you see too. Ive always used castor mound sets along the bank to attract any stragglers in the area. Good luck!

Well that's just it Yoda, I don't know if I don't want to mess with it or not. I'll keep them in mind though. Do they trap? I'm still looking at doing it myself, but might decide otherwise.
