Got this nice pig today on Hall Lake just West of Lawrence. I am sure that some of you are familiar with this lake. It is a pretty small lake and is fished very little. Got him on a white spinner bait with a green pumpkin finesse worm hooked on. He was hanging around in the thinned out parts of the lilly pads. He weighed in at 4lbs 3 oz.
My Biggest Bass so far. He was a lot of fun. Funny thing...a bigger one chased my spinner bait to the boat and saw me at the last second, just before he was about to take it.

Nope...not gonna mount it. I let it go after a few pictures. I really want to get a 5 pounder to mount. Even then, I will take some good measurements and pics and just have a Replica made. I love to just catch fish and let them go back where they belong. The way I see it is I won round 1, hopefully there will be several more to go. Ya know, I fished this lake a few times this summer and the only way I could catch a fish was deadsticking a blue/pearl Gary Senko. This time I was throwing a white spinner bait with a green pumpkin worm on the hook. I was killing them with that. Being fall, they are a little more predictable I think. I have heard about a 7+ pounder being taken from that lake. I tend to believe it somewhat. It's a very small lake and it is hardly ever fished. I only live about a half mile down the road from it, so I am gonna go back down there this afternoon and see what happens. So far I am loving fall fishing more than summer fishing!:)
