Fried Fillets, I almost always fish in Canada so I can't put a number on it! Anyways, myself and a couple buddies from work headed over to Canada today and managed a limit of decent fish. Never really had them on fire but the action was pretty steady. Steve, thanks for calling me in because we took some nice fish there. Best spot for us was 18 fow of the Ruscom but many different spots produced fish. All I can say is I love this time of year. To you Deer guys, there is plenty of time during muzzle loader season to get that venison! :p
Here is a pic of some of our better fish!
Sorry, I sized it a bit too large but I don't have time to fix it right now.

Another nice mess of tasty perch! I knew you were out today & was very jealous, what a beautiful day. Things look to get a bit rough over the next few days. I'm hoping to go Saturday, but will have to see if the water is clear. The winds are supposed to blow to 25 knots. Not a good thing.

John, once again nice job on the fish!! The deer guy comment stung just a wee bit. ;) I dont hunt the muzzle loader season, by that time I have had enough of being in the woods. Did I forget to mention that ice will be forming soon. :p

John, I was over there 5 days in a row, that was the reason for the numbering.

Nice job on the perchies......You must have one heck of a freezer!! Now I see why you don't IF.....You don't need to!!! :p
Q for ya.....When you use an electric knife to fillet perch, do you cut through the ribs and then go back and trim them out??? Never used an electric before...but I'm hoping the fat man in the red suit will bring me one this year!!!!

Yup, cut behind the head and go down to the backbone and turn the knife toward the tail but stop just short of the tail. Now tou have the fish to hold on to to remove the skin. After the skin is removed you can cut the ribs out. Hope that made sense. OR, Jr has a fish cleaning service for 20 cents a fish. So far, I'm his best customer! :p
