What type of floating fly line do you guys like best? Myself I like the weight forward as it gets me better distance with my lame casting.
I like both, double taper seems to give a softer presentation when fishing dry's over spooky fish or clear water, plus, it can be reversed after a year or two and you have a new fly line on the business end of your spool.
Weight forward seems easier to cast and helps me to turn over those weightier flies, it also seems nicer casting in wind.

Peddler, I know what you mean about the double taper giving a more delicate presentation. I've had a lot of what I call "splash downs" with the wf, but I still favor it overall.

Steve,
I use both for different presentations. I should state first of all that I use bamboo rods for all of my trout fishing. I like a DT best because it works the best with cane. I can actually look at the spot where I want the fly to land, and 9 times out of 10 it ends up there, almost as if by the will of God himself. I use a WF on a 7' 4wt that I use almost exclusively on small streams. I feel that the WF loads up the rod quicker on the short casts that kind of fishing calls for.
Thanks,
Mike

I fish bamboo rods most of the time also and one line that I really like is the Wulff Triangle Taper it works great in close as well as at 60+ feet also It is ideal for roll casting, just a great line period. If you get a chance to try one, go for it I thing you'll like it.
