Trout, Ihave an old bamboo rod thats missing just the tip section, I'm not using it for obvious reasons, but would like to find one to complete it so I can hang it on the wall. Strictly sentimental and not for sale. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. (I really like these new icons thats a cool option.) Thanks for your time. Stay on top. DAVE

Here's what you can make with a busted fly rod, and old real, some lamp cord, and a few other stock pieces of hardware from Home Depot.

Steve,Before anyone starts cutting up an old rod please find out the maker, some makers are very famous and their rods are a part of history worth preserving. Most bamboo rods are not hollow and do not easily lend themselves to running a lamp cord through them.Note:A Thomas&Thomas graphite will work real well. :p

Yeah, that was just an el-cheapo graphite that I busted on a snag.

I'll never forget watching one of those Martha Stewart type 'how to' shows (why? I dunno!) when they brought out a nice use for those dirty old fly reels that are laying around. She made a lamp out of 'em! I wonder if she ever found out how many Bogdan's and such she slobbered with glue.
Think she'd take $20.00 for that lamp! :)

Well that lamp only cost me about $10 to make, but I wouldn't have made one if I didn't have an old busted fly rod around. You definitely won't get rich making them and selling them.
