Allright guy's, looking into picking up a new gun. I have narrowed my choices to either the Remington 700 BDL in 270 or the Winchester model 70 featherlite 270, what are you opinions on these two guns, any pros and cons?
Also looking at getting a new waterfowl gun, I believe I am going to get the Benneli super black eagle unless someone talks me out of it.
Choices, opinions appreciated!!
Thanks Guys,

I don't think you would go wrong with any of your choices. I might lean toward the Remington in the rifle, but that is just a matter of opinion. They are both good firearms. If you have an opportunity, shoot them both and see what feels better in your hands.

Unless you'll be lugging your gun a long way I wouldn't go to a featherlite...heavier guns tend to be more accurate because the recoil won't effect the shot as much. Just my .02. BTW I have a Savage .270 Win. I inherited this year, and it is a tack driver. I like the .270 alot. Most of all just shoot what you are comfortable with.

Both would be fine choices.
Pick the one that makes you feel all gooey and brings a smile to your face when you pick it up. Pick the one that feels best when you shoulder it in the showroom with your hunting coat on.
Pay your money, take your chances. Looks like you've got the hard part of the homework out of the way. This is the fun part.
Good luck, have fun.

Personaly, I would choose the Remington. The BDL has always been my favorite rifle. I like the way they feel, look, and shoot. Just my opinion, though. As long as you're happy with the choice you make, that's what matters most.

I would go with the remington from what i have read and seen it is the number 1 or 2 most accurate rifle on the market, with the other being savage rifles. The only remington product i would buy is the centerfire rifles, i absolutely hate those danged 870 shotguns!

The recoil can cause a flinch which means you may miss what your trying to kill. My pick would be the Savage with the new adjustable trigger, or the Stevens M-200 [Savage mfg] both shoot great and dont cost nearly what a BDL does. But if you like pretty rifles thats another thing. [BDLs are nice wood]. I am more a stickler for accuracy over beauty though.

Get the Remington, then add a scope and a trigger job and you'll have a nice shooting machine... :)

Either rifles are good. As far as the Bennelli super black eagle, I have the SBE1 (older version) and love it. But if you ever want to buy a slug barrel for deer hunting expect to pay approx. $500-$600 for it:yikes: . Just something to think about.
