Before this gos too far... I hate to tell ya that the first pic is a still from while filming a coyote hunt in Allegan Co. and is actually just a house cat, it was maybe 2 pounds, i thought it looked like a little Bear myself after i looked at the video, but it's just a kitty.
Now the video footage (http://www.zippyvideos.com/3239908091855086/blackpanther/) ..taken in a different location....that's another story....
Thanks for playing along-

ok, before i get into this, im not offering it as an explanation, jsut throwing it out there. i read in the oakland press a while back as well as a few other places that black panthers are more common in areas where the population is very low. apparently it is a product of imbreeding that causes it, so i suppose it can be considered a birth defect. im not saying there are black panthers, or any cougars at all for that matter in michigan but i cant rule it out. a year ago i would have said there were no wolverines here, but i would have been wrong so who knows.

I would wager that it is a small house cat maybe 2 pounds:lol:. My first reaction was that it looked like a little bear cub as well but since you kindly gave the answer away.......
