Wonder if anyone paid to watch the hunting debate between Wayn LaPierre and Andrew Butler of PETA go at it over the question: "Should All Hunting Be Banned?"

I sprung for the $9.95. Mr. LaPierre did not disapoint me at all. He started on the offensive and kept after the morons from PETA for the entire 1.5 hours.

One of the PETA supporters ended up asking a really stupid question of LaPierre asking that if it was true that hunters are trying to compensate for having "inadequate sexual apendatures" PETA set the whole thing up on a website and this idiot woman actually seemed to feel it was the truth.

In the end, LaPierre seemed much more comfortable with his position than the PETA geek did.

You can find out more about this at: http://huntingdebate.com/

There's also an option to vote on who won the debate. Click on "VOTE"

I'm betting you know who to vote for without even seeing the program.

It's funny that you bring the PETA up today. Last night a "friend" of mine came over. I didn't think anything of it but when she walked in the door she starting yelling and screaming at me while insanely crying. Finally she caught her breath enough to ask me how in the hell I can shoot poor little animals and threw up on my carpet. Looking over I realized she saw my 8pt mount haning all the wall. I didn't know to respond because she was acting so :yikes: crazy that I just started laughing  and couldn't stop. That made her even more upset and she stormed out still yelling at me about killing animals.

What a wacko...

Sounds like you need a new friend

My wife had a friend when we were dating that was a card carrying PETA member, the first time she was coming over she practically begged me not to mention hunting.I didn't at first.Just came walking in the hoese in full camo with my bow in hand  Wife was NOT amused. Ended up in quite a discussion with the PETA girl ;)
I was going to watch that show last night ,but it was getting a little late,so I just went to bed.
PETA's arguments are too tired and out there. They usually manage to me me angry and I figured La Pierre would take care of it.If I see it available this weekend I might watch it(if I'm not hunting ;) )

Ask your friend if she's like to patch things up, ask her to meet you at the local shooting range

My wife and I know a couple who are members of PETA but they do not mind that I hunt, they just are not interested in it which is fine. In fact they fish quite a bit.

Vote in in. They say check back Nov.1 for the results, but actually the voting results could be very much against us. Just depends on how many they get to vote. Sad to say, we are outnumbered.

As for C0w9irl_Up, that is really funny. If I were you, I could hardly wait until the next time you see this person. That could really be interesting.

My daughter-in-law was very much, and still is, kind of, an anti-hunter. Her brother definitely is. I really laughed the first time I met him at my son and daughter-in-law's place. We were having a bar-b-que.....chicken and hamburgers. He started spouting off about the hunters and then the farmers who kept these poor little animals in pens and such and of course later killed them. Naturally, my first question to him was, "Are those hamburgers done yet?" He got the point fast as both my son and I really laid it on him. And as for my daughter-in-law, she found out that she dearly loves venison! She can hardly wait every year we usually give them a whole deer already processed and ready to eat. So much for anti-hunting....

How can a person be a member of PETA and still fish??? It is ok to hurt a fish but not an animal? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard!!! Not the post, nor the postER!!! No offense meant there. How can a peta freak justify fighting a fish to near dealth and then letting it go?? That is the problem with our country, RETARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone has there own agenda, I wonder how the PETA people feel about the rat problem in NYC

Well, I work in the same office building as her and this morning we ended up in the same elevator. I never felt like turning into ice before but oh I could have!!!! She gave me the most evil look  ever and I just smiled :D right back!

Well we have to remember the kind of mentality these PETA people possess. Number one, they really don`t know wherer their chicken McNuggets come from or maybe that expensive Italian handbag. Then theres the say from their FOunder/ spokesperson Ingrid Newkirk that states " A rat is a dog is a pig is a boy." Anotherwards, we are on the same plane as rats and pigs adn we shouldn`t be experimenting on them. I`ll tell you what, if it were their mother, father, son or daughter dying of cancer or a disease, I bet they would give the experimental drug to the animals themselves! `Nuff said.

I watched it and thankls to a screw up by comcast they gave it to me for free. All I can say it Wayne did a fantastic job, every thing he was asked and had to defend he did with facts and figures along with alot of PETA direct quiotes. My wife told me she was not going to watch it with me because I would get to fired up and be yelling at the T.V. , well guess what she got intrested and she was the one that was yelling at the PETA people. I only wish this would have been on a non-pay channel so more people could have seen Wayne defend more then just hunting, he defended farmers, doctors, and research as well. Also it woulkd be nice for the world to see how ignorant the PETA folks are, when they gave their final thoughts no one from the hunting public said anything they just sat there and let PETA finish, when it was Waynes turn he was interupted several times.

I wish I could have seen it. If it was that good, the NRA should have the "Outdoor life Network" or ESPN show it.

If you meet enough of them in person and get to know them, you'll find out that a huge percentage are hypocrites.

I dated someone that fits this description and while she was all about PETA and being vegan, she had a goose-down comforter and let her cats roam about outside quite often even though they killed small animals on a regular basis (and would sometimes bring their prizes back to the house). :dizzy:

Must have been "organic goose down". When they unchain the freaks from trees, there next chor is to collect all the feathers laying around.

True story.
When I was married, my ex wifes lesbian sitster came to visit from L.A.(yea, I was looking foward to it :D ) . She brought her girlfriend (a bounce, so I thought ;) ).
When they walked in, her "friend" looks around at all my mounts and starts giggling. I ask what? she said...uhhh well, I'm a card carrying member of PETA. I ask if we were going to have any problems, she said no. That evening at the bar, her and I had a great deep debate on the issue. She stated that she did not have a problem as long as I actualy ate what I killed. I left it at that and so did she.
We got along so well that evening my ex and her sister were both jealous.... . I kept singing "she don't eat meat, but she sure likes the bone".. she was craking up...we both got bitched at later...

Good stuff!

Had a friend who was dating a Peta member / vegan. (I called her Darth Vegan) We were friendly with each other, and she was well aware of the fine line she needed to walk with me. One day my buddy calls me and says he wants me to take them for a boat ride, being that they were at a company picnic on a local beach. I told him I was fishing, and would pull into the beach at 10:00 or so to pick them up. I fished, caught a couple salmon, and as planned picked them up at 10. We get about 1/4 mile off shore and she discovers the fish smell, and asked if the boat always smelled like that. I responded that she was most likely smelling the fresh scent of 2 salmon on ice, directly under her bottom. (I'm sensing where this is going at this point, and loving every second) She lifted the lid and saw the two fish lying there and pretty much freaked out, demanding I take her back in. I said the boat tour would only be an hour or so, and we'd go back in after that. She insisted that she could not be in the same boat as two dead fish. I said "Then get out". I was quite suprised to see that she did just that, and swam a good 500 yards back to shore. My buddy looked at me and said: "I guess looks only go so far....lets go fishing" ;)

You have to admire her resolve though... as misguided as it is.

The air dates are over and my vcr was broken so can't help you guys. I hope either the NRA or Comcast will put it on again. Probably after the Nov 1. date for the voting ends.
