I just picked up my old Evinrude LightTwin 3hp motor from my late buddy's widow. It hasn't been started in several years, but it fired right up even with the old gas in it. Don't think it has more than an hour or two on it since I had it last rebuilt 10-12 years ago.

The problem now is it leaks when I lay it down to transport. I remember that it did this before and had to have some carb? work done to resolve.

I'm looking to have it repaired so that it doesn't leak when I transport it.

Anyone with experience interested in a winter project ?

Mike contact Tonga (Dean) from this site. He works wonders on outboards and is very reasonable.

Fiji,
I have guy in Lapeer that does all my work I cannot do myself. He's the only guy myself, and buddies, use anymore. Very reasonable and reliable. Give me a call and I'll get you in touch.

My go-to motor guy is out in Howell, if that is closer for you than the others... Let me know...

BTW - I'm assuming your leak is gas? I have some experience with small motors and outboards and seem to remember those smaller motors with enclosed/internal fuel tanks usually have a shut off on them. If there's anything left to leak it's only what's in the carb. ;)
