Our season is just about here and the spot that I had intended on hunting doesn't look like it will work out.
I've got a few back-up spots in mind, of course you never know who will be there on opening day.The spots I've been looking at don't have any obvious sign someone will be there, but you just can't really tell unless there's a blind built.
Not that this will avoid most people, but if anyone wants to swap PM's to give an idea of where another may be at least Oakland guys from this forum may be able to not be in each others spot. :)
By the way...I WON'T be at P.L so if that's your spot you're at least safe from me

Thanks Ken, I've got a few places in mind. I'm just trying to avoid people (as much as possible.)
As I'm probably going to be hunting a spot I haven't been on opening day before I'm at least trying to not screw up a spot of any of our members.
Thanks for the link though :)
The spot I've been using I found out this weekend several groups of guys are going there(that I don't know). So instead of fighting it out there I'm going to try a place I've been watching.
We'll see how it goes ;)

of state land in the holly area, give me a pm with your # and we can discuss some honey-holes I;m willing to lend you, as I'm not hunting opening day.

dinoday - If you are trying to avoid the crowds on opening day in Oakland County, you are setting yourself up for an exercise in frustration.

Not many (any?) of the back woods potholes that usually offer a tough walk in but decent opportunity have any water. And Mallards seem to be in short supply, anyway.

Get out early and hang 10 cheap flashlights in the trees 50 yards to either side of you. Works like a charm. heheh

Some Dollar Store specials :) That might not be that bad an idea

Thanks for the offer mydogisscout...that's really nice of you. I've got 2 spots in mind.I'm going to give them both a couple look overs this weekend.

I was going out BowHunterBrandon's way,but decided against it.

AlphaMale is right about a lot of the small potholes.Checked out several last weekend that I used last year and you could walk across them(dust bowls).
