Looking for some late reports? Spent last week in Huron chasing the eyes that were not hungry. Any perch or eyes hitting recently...I saw the reports of early last week of the eyes moving in closer ( 19FOW ). Hoping to maybe get out Sunday morning...

I was out last Sunday on my buddies boat, we did real well on the perch, visiblity was not very good, I could barely make out Sputnik to the east of us we fished in 24 feet of water.

We were out last Sunday. Too many weeds to troll. Drifted with harnesses and casted dearies. Zip, zilch, nada. tried depths from 16-22ft. Lots of fish on the finder, but they wouldn't go. Water was very dirty from the rain and blow. I'm sure if you hit the right day you'll do well.

Rencoho...How long has it been since you shot a carp with your bow and arrow? :D Those were the good old days huh?

I found walleyes all over the place from 18- 22 fow. Weeds were bad Sunday as mentioned above. But I was perch fishing and did pretty good, on the right days you will do well on both. BB's and spinners worked best for me on the walleyes with the firetiger taking the most fish, early morning was most productive on the eye"s.

Good luck Jimmy

CMFISH51 ,
I was out on Erie Monday started perch fishing but the lake got pretty bumppy , I moved in tight to the bay side of stoney pointe to get out of the wind . Picked up 3 walleye 2 were in that 15 inch class the other just over 19 inches .got 1 drifting a bottombouncer got the other 2 casting a weightfoward spinnner ,also caught several white bass in there . The perch bite was pretty steady in 25 feet before I headed to calmer seas .

Thanks Larry for the update - My thoughts were to hit the eyes early and work that 19-21 FOW edge from in front of Fermi to around Stoney Point. Then move out to about 25 FOW for and start looking for some perch. So that report makes me feel a little better doing what I thought...Wonder what this wind will do to the winds in St. Clair and if it will bog up the area with weeds that I would like to troll for the eyes...Or muddy the water...Only time will tell...

It might dirty things up a bit but this morning there was a stiff west wind so the weeds shouldn't be too much problem unless the wind shifts.

Yeah hopefully this NW wind will not push any weeds from up north. But at least we will have SW winds for the next couple days to hopefully push what weeds we get out and far away from where I would like to troll...Hopefully the clarity will settle down with these lighter forcasted winds by the time we hopefully get after 'em on Sunday.

I hope you're right on not pushing weeds south. If the winds keep up at this pace I may have to consider fishing the river and I don't want to deal with LSC weeds there. I'm not able to fish until Monday so it may not be too bad. The weather is supposed to stabilize by then.

Hey Guys, fished all day tuesday and did ok on perch, went zip for the eyes. The perch came from DT's waypoint. I tried trolling in the morning but could not keep the lines clean, same for the evening. I tried BB and harness, did very well on cats. Fished/trolled from 16 to 22 fow from the stacks to stoney. Couple of guys at the landing had a limit of eyes they picked up trolling in 16 to 18 fow. They were pretty tighted lipped on lure selection though. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Anything helps...our game plan for trolling would be jet 40's and spoons, and dipseys and crawler harnesses...

Hey Guy's...

Can you keep us abreast as to the water clarity if any of you head out within the next few days. I'll be fishing Sunday morning for my annual pilgramage down to Sterling State Park in search of yellowbellies. Also would like to know where is the best place to get bait. I know there are a few next to the park but in your humble opinions which gives you the best count and at what cost. I usually fish off of Stoney Point but if any of you have any areas that may be better let me know via pm if you wish not to post that kind of info. Thanks guys... When I used to live in Detroit I fished the bay all the time but since moving up to norther LSC I only make it down there once a year in the fall. Sure do miss it a bunch!!!

Hey Greg,

Speaking of yellow bellies! These colder mornings have definitely started to give me the Simcoe itch! Hope to see you there this year!
