Spent the morning and half the afternoon fishing both the Saginaw and the lower Tittabawassee Rivers. The Saginaw was satined up pretty bad from the heavy rains that Southern Michigan got, which in turn flowed into and down the Shiawassee, Flint and Cass rivers. All of which (of course) flow into the Saginaw. We tried the usual spots first and then hit the Tittabawassee that was snake belly low and very clear. This saved the day and we hit some smallies and a white perch at the convergence up to the splits, upriver from Green Point. And then ran out of deep enough water to continue upstream. Finally got to meet Scotty Hoover face to face and see his new rig. I'm posting a picture of it here and one of Bob who caught the biggest smallie of the day. Me and Bob also stopped at Hooters on the river for lunch, and that topped the day off nicely. :yikes: :corkysm55 Thanks for a nice day fishing Bob.

Too bad Mother Nature played another trick on Us with the rain  , But I guess I won't complain too much as the Gulf Coast gets pounded again. Was hopeing to find that school of White Bass, Man - everybody should experiance that atleast once in thier life. Won't be long Folks and the 'Eyes will start "sneaking" in. I for one can't wait, been a while since I've had bacon wrapped Walleye on the grill :corkysm55 . Bob

I walked down to the river between the rain drops about an hour ago to check out the damage. It looks like solid mud, but at least alot of the weeds are getting swept away. It kills my plans for hitting the Saginaw next week. I've got a couple of weeks off, so there's still hope for me.
I still have some walleye left from this spring. That bacon wrapped walleye sounds great! Could you pass along the specifics?

Be VERY carefull - this is addictive :corkysm55 ! Cut Walleye fillets into 1 1/2" squares, put in zip-loc bag and cover with Zesty Italian dressing. Let marinate over nite. Soak tooth-pics in water over nite (so they don't burn). Get some nice thick cut Bacon. Cut the Bacon strips in half/wrap around 'Eye chunks/pin with tooth-pic. Cook over medium coals untill the bacon is done. Doesn't hurt to pour a bit of the marinade over them while they cook also. I usually add some fresh cracked pepper/garlic powder/basalmic vineger to the dressing too. Only bad thing about these, is they don't last :evilsmile - enjoy. Bob

I'm guessing even the low/slow/clear Tittabawassee is going to get the big flush, after todays rain and the predicted deluge for tonight and tomorrow.
