First deer harvested with a bow

:D After 10+ years of recreational bow hunting I finally got my first deer with a bow. What an feeling to finally hit one after missing so many over 10+ years. The deer I harvested was a 1 1/2 year old doe. I shot her after I could not convince, with grunting, a very nice 8 point buck to come my way. I thought I had better take her other wise it might be 11+ years without a deer.

Now that I have finally taken my first deer I am going to hunt for that buck.

Congratulations on your first kill. Trust me, it gets easier after the first one is out of the bag. The best thing to do is continue to hunt. Everytime you come out of the woods...you are a better/more experienced hunter. Good job and good luck.

That's great! post a pic so we can all see her.
I was given the same advice that backstrap just gave you. I hunted for years without a kill. After my first bow kill, I was told that it was like a crack in the dam, and the deer would start piling up from there on.

Great Job Cory~ What backstrap and Tom said. It took me years to get that first one under my belt.......after that my confidence rose to where I was taking deer on a regular basis.

congrats on your first deer! nothing compares to getting a deer with your bow, especially your first one! Id rather score a spike with my bow, than a ten point with my gun( ok maybe not).

dont worry, in my dads 16 yrs of bow hunting, he only got his first buck w/a bow last year
