So the girlfriend and I wanna go fishing this Saturday. She doesn't have the kids this weekend and I'm outa work about noon. I'd really like to get some walleye and she's never caught one. She's not the worlds best fisherperson, but can hold her own most days. So if we wanted to drag some spinner harnesses somewhere, any recomendations? I'm not really rigged to walleye fish hardcore, but I can rig up some spinner harnesses no sweat... I have a few rapallas, husky jerks, and other cranks but don't have a lot of deep water gear. Becuase of her limited skills, I'd rather not sit and jig for them as she would loose interest after not too long. Trolling she can at least read a book or watch the scenery (other boats, shore, birds, etc...)

Second thought was the Grand for some smallies, but I don't think there is enough water in it yet for my Glastron to safely navigate with the motor running (50 hp merc). I have an electric to troll with, but I know it won't push that boat upstream.

So, any thoughts? I'm at work, measuring very small parts at my desk (with a calipers) so I could use the distraction of many replies to this thread!! LOL!!!:D

:dizzy:

I'm proud of you.... givin' the bass a break from your relentless pummelings!
I would try Lincoln - if you want to stay close to home , You probably already know some guys have been pickin' off a few 0'er to FrEEkMonT as well.
Macatawa has a pretty good population there - and that's close also.
I won't EVEN speak to you about Croton or Hardy ...
Seems some places just don't treat ya right... ;)
Fremont & Lincoln both have some steep drops - so if you're a good suspended fish slayer , come with confidence... if not having a bottom to drop a bait on makes ya nervous , try Lake sMacK-a-toiLeT in holland.
The grand might work , but you'll have to go waaaaaaaay down from GR with that big ole MerC to hang.....

Let us know how ya sCHwiiNG!

OK, let's say I go to Freekmont, I have some spinner harnesses... if I were to go out tomorrow and buy two baits to drag, what would they be? Purple perch? Gulp minnows??

Harnesses are good .....
I have some Gulp! gold & blk craws that I've yet to try... didn't do any good with the Fl. Org. GulP! minnnow grubs last few trips out..
:)
I usually pull firetiger or a perch pattern , and I've had the blue/silver get hits too.
Don't rule out deep thundersticks either.
I think some days the color is more a preference to US than them....
;)
Watch out for the Northereeeen Slimers....:yikes:
