This forum been a great resourse helping to identify things.
:help:
Need some help on an ID for this bird that showed up at my parents house in Kalamazoo. It was around July 18th this summer, was there 3 days before leaving. My mom believes it is a parrot, big red beak on it and really colorful. She's an amature birder and never seen one like this before. The quality is not the best, had to scan a photo she had taken without telephoto lens from a distance.
Mom is a sweetheart, but is not usually ready to believe the most logical scenario, thinks it might have been blown up this way with the weather from hurricane Dennis. Most likely is an escaped pet though.
Any suggestions welcome.

Looks to be a Conure.

I think at least, parrot type bird, someone lost their pet.
A few years back I had an African Grey hanging around here, I tried to box trap it to no avail.

MSUiceman, I think you have it nailed. I'll tell mom.
I'll have to search and find out more about it.
THANKS!
