This morning I decided to shot a few "rounds" with the bow before heading to work. After my initial round of 6 shots I retrieved the arrows and started round #2. After the 1st shot I noticed a doe working through the apple orchard about 60 yards straight to the east, as I was shooting 90 degrees opposite to the north I kept shooting. Each time I shot she would stop and look around. I was able to get all the shots off before she started to snort after seeing me retrieve the arrows again. She continued to watch and snort as I shot two more "rounds".
Talk about "feeling the pressure". Nothing like a live animal in view as you target shoot. :D

The fact she didn't run away when you were shooting your "rounds," says good things about your setup.

D Hunter,
I know what you mean the last couple of nights shooting I've had does that want to come into our back yard apple tree as I'm taking my nightly 12 shots.
I hope they are getting used to seeing me!

Two years ago, I was practicing at my dad's house in Livonia(of all places!) when a doe and two fawns stepped out right between me and my target. (30 yds) I was up on a 20ft hill shooting down into the wooded flood plain, so I could simulate a tree stand. They did not notice me for a while (I was sitting down monkeying with an allen wrench at the time) First I was startled by thier appearance, but then I decided to take the opportunity to draw(without an arrow) and aim at them through the peep sight, lining up a perfect shot. I was able to draw and let down a few times before they moved on, getting some different angles.
Pretty cool!

Putting the pressure on myself for every practice shot is something that has definitely helped my success at crunch time. I frequently practice with my sons, and we play 7-up, a variation on the old basketball game. You alternate shots, every bull puts a point in the pot. First miss gets all the points in the pot. First one to 7 looses. Now that their grown and have a little money in their pockets, we play for a buck a point.
