Fished Erie today for perch and it was awesome, lost count on how many I caught but I kept 50 nice ones some up to 11". Best day so far this year, non stop action for 4 hrs. I got a late start and didn't get set up on the hole untill 11:30 am and started slaying em right away. Bite ceased to exist at around 5 so I pulled anchor and trolled for walleye, bite was slow untill around 7 pm when I hit 3 nice fish one being 5 lbs then it was over . Got off the water at 8pm, home at 9:45 and cleaned fish untill 11 pm. Its now 5:30 am and heading out the door for hopefully another round. I haven't figured out how to post pics but will gladly e-mail to anybody who wants to see em. Ohh baby I got yellow belly fever

My perch hole gave up nothing but dinks. I did try for some walleye but was probably a little too far north for decent eyes. I gave up and headed back to my perch hole and got nothing. Strange day for me. Quite the floating party going on not too far from me so that may have had something to do with it.

we managed 4 eyes out of sterling in 18 to 20 fow. worked out to 22 fow but no hits. dipsey with kevorkian mini spoon and several other spoons taking fish. only caught 3 shorts. lots of boats perching in about 22fow. good luck. we were pretty lonely looking for walleye.

Sfw you got mail, I sent pics to the rest of you guys too. A little slower today only kept 37 out of about 70 I caught. Only caught 1 walleye thanks to dropping my last container of worms in the drink with the lid off :bash: Polar bear thy have been hitting crawlers pretty good I been using a 3oz bouncer 90 - 100 back and haven't had any trouble catching walleyes I caught em all over the place this week, it was nice to fall back on the eyes as I was having trouble catching perch until yesterday. Capt. Dan you have a open invitation to come down and fish with me if we can get your big ### in my little boat   and it would be great to fish with ya again. I think the perch hit better on the cloudy days today they were biting really light and had to break out my ultralight rod. The bigger walleyes are starting to show up the one I got today was 3.5 lbs. I did get a special treat today though a double with 2 ten inchers. Would definitley like to see some more of that.

Jimmy.
PM me the direction where you want to meet. It would give Me an excuse to get your coat back to you, I'd also like to try some wiggle discs with those bouncers on Erie once. I know this bad Bay bite is happeneing to everybody, but you really start to wonder after a few skunks in a row.

Here is what my Doctor prescribed for Yellow Belly Fever. The problem is, it's only made it worse!

Dan,
Will get a hold of you the middle of the week, but you have to promise to bring lots of shiners from Franks they only have fatheads in monroe sometimes and there shiners are really puny for the most part and sometimes die before you get to the lake. Next year I am gonna set up a small bait tank in the garage and import my minnows from up there. Sorry to here the Bay bite is so bad I was looking for a little fall hog action but I guess I will have to wait for this winter.

Jimmy.
That New Bait shop (Juniors) that we stopped into before your emergency phone call that day we were going to fish, has already got the nice big (Fall) Blue Emerald Shiners. He had a nice mix of small perch and decent walleye jigging shiners yesterday when I stopped in. And my aireator bucket keeps them in good shape for the most part. Just to bad all I ended up doing with this good/healthy bait yesterday, was feeding half to the (Moocher Seagull) that set up next to my boat, and planting the rest in the Bay.

Now are you talking about blades on the spreader itself, or on and above the snelled hoooks on the spreader? And are you using the Crappies Rig spreaders with the sinker at the bottom, or the rare (old type) Lake Erie spreaders, that attach like a pendelum in the middle and have the snelled hooks at both ends? Bet you guys never thought perch fishing could get this technical hey? :tdo12: :yikes:

Whatever happened to heading out from the dock, guessing where the fish were, dropping anchor, and drowning a dozen crawlers?? LOL!!!
Heck, last time I trolled for bass/pike on Glen Lake, all we caught were jumbo perch. Crank baits for perch, who'd-a-thunk it!!

I'm going to bet you that many a MS member has caught (not on purpose of course) some real monster perch on the Bay trolling with 1/4 ounce Tot's, I know I have. :chillin:

Like the old crappie rig spreaders with the sinker on the bottom, blades and beads are above the snelled hooks. I use #6 hooks, two beads but to each his own. Hammered cooper was kicking but last weekend with gold running a close second but I guess all that could change in a heart beat.
