Lake Erie walleye

What time of year to the walleye start coming in closer to shore at night. Im looking to wade out about knee to waist deep and cast rapala for them.

Ususally I jig but i want to try this for once.

You could start giving it a shot now some of the walleye I got eariler were in tight to shore , it will get better later in the fall as the water cools , late October , November , December on the right night can be great .
