Recreational laws ?

I was watching Fred Trost last week and a guy was asking about hunting on a guys land ,and the guy was not going to to let him hunt because he was afraid of being held responsible for any injury that the guy might get and bing sued. Fred Said there is a law that protects land owners from bing sued by people useing privet and state land, it was like ML317.176 or some think like that can some one please help me find this law?:confused:
