Anyone know of a good, reputable, fair archery shop in the GR area. I was also looking at the archery place out in Twin Lakes last weekend and they seemed OK.

Al and Bobs on Division just south of 28th St. took good care of me earlier this year. The guys working the counter knew what they were doing and didn't try to screw me over, they recommended products to me that were in my price range, gave me fair and honest opinions of things that I asked about and they didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't really need.

I bought my bow from them a couple years ago and found them very helpful ( al and bob's ). I would recommend them.
There is another article on this under Vic's archery. Another good one Blendon Pines.
here ya go. See this one:

Thanks - I just replied to that thread. Sounds like Al and Bobs, Grand Vally, or Long Arrow are all options in my area. Now I just need to narrow it down!

Why don't you head to Grand Valley sportsman tonight around 8ish? Should be a good time tonight...the Monday Night Football 3d league starts.

Archery Unlimited down on I thinks its Leanard street is a good place with alot of knowledge. I think its still there. Haven't been there for a couple of years but Frank Russ is the owner and is a Mathews Staff shooter there. He sells Hoyt, Martin, and Mathews, maybe a few others. Good Luck.

GV sports is a good place to go... Al and Bobs is ok too... Just avoid Archery Unlimited and the Outdoorsman... See this (http://www.icefishingmichigan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108674) post... You also might want to look into Kent Arms... Just my .02...
Glad i could help by finding that post. Good luck on the search. Grand Valley is a good place. Enjoy!!

I bought a new Hoyt from the "Outdoorsman" then returned to have a
rest changed out to another style, the guys there helped out fine...
How come the bashing..?

No bashing.. Just telling the truth... Every time I've been in there is was an unpleasant experience... So I am just letting people know what they might experience as well... As you can see in other posts, there are several people who have had similar experiences, so it is not just me or a one time fluke... Sad but true... Believe me, I wish it wasn't this way...

Had a bad experience there when buying a gun. To make a long story short they made me pay sales tax for an even up trade, New for new. And the guy behind the counter was a total idiot about it. I could have got better service at Walmart!
