The word I have heard was that Adam's Archery has a for sale sign up is this true. Also Adams resides in Milan not Belleville I beleive Hog Wild Carries more bows in stock than Adams at any given time and also more brands.

adams is not for sale...that i am 100% sure of...i cant believe that howard could pack more bows in his garage then adams could in their shop..also adams maybe in milan but it is still only about 3 miles away from hog wild..
adams is a full time archery shop..only closed on mondays and tuesday
hrs w-sun are 10 to 7..huge indoor range and 15 acres of outdoor 3d...
they have been in business for many many years....
*wilderness in Ann arbor is up for sale and the doors will close this month sometime
check out their web site: www.adamsarchery.com

Yeah that sucks man. I shop at Cabela's but only for stuff you can ONLY get at Cabela's. I can tell you some horror stories about things I've seen happen in the archery department there :yikes: Dry fires, cutting of serving with a rusty pocket knife only to cut a few strands and re-serve to hide it...scary stuff.
I never made it to Wilderness that often but I was always greeted with a smile and got superior service and genuine workmanship when I did.

Why don't you stop into Howards sometime to find out for yourself if you do not beleive that he has more bows than Adams. Last time I was in Adams I was a little dissapointed in their stock of Bows.

Take it easy guys.
I have to admit..It's actually noce to see people with so much loyalty to a shop. Refreshing in these days of "big box" companies.
I know Howard and Diane both and both have excellent shops and do great work and have ample selection.
If you want to plug these places post what lines they carry. I believe that's the biggest difference but both are top notch shops.

Sorry,
But I am going to have to agree w/ mikieday.
I have tried to go to hog wild but it seems like they are never open or in order to deal with them you have to make an appointment. I like to know a shop is open and ready to do business.
Dick and Diane have gone more then the extra mile for my friends and me on getting us set-up and out the door w/ a smile.
Not knocking hog wild but I have never got the chance to deal w/ them.

He took a hit when Champion went out. That was his bow.
Last I was in there he had Whisper Creek, Reflex, Renegade and Jennings that I recall.
Pete was cool though cause he was always on the lookout for new stuff. He had the Liberty 1 (no riser), Whisper Creek (which I saw 4-5 of at Jays last weekend) that little Bladerunner bow....he had an open mind and would give the oddbal stuff a shot.

Adams sells Mathews, hoyt, parker, martin, and Maybe Bowtech. I don't know if they still carry bowtech, but they used to.
I only went to hog wild once, He seemed like a nice guy, he had luckily been home from work early and let us in the shop. He had alot of Bowtech stuff, but not much else.
I prefer Adams, mainly because they have the best 3D range I have ever shot. It's open all year round and on the days they're closed they use the honor system. Drop your money in the mail slot and go shoot!

Yes Wilderness is a great place and now I don't have a pro shop to go to.
I work a 1/2 mile from Wilderness. they have Browning,Whisper creek,Reflex,Renegade and Jennings.
Pete also has alot of traditional equipment on hand used and new, I would say one of the best bow shops I've ever been to.

All that I can judge is on personal experiences with bow shop have been at most if not all bow shops in the area and I sorry if some you took what I said wrong.
I was to Adam's along time before I ever went to Hog Wild they used to carry quite a few different varieties of manufactures before they added the indoor range but last time I was in their all they had was Mathews, Hoyts and one more manufacturer that I cannot remember right now and plus Dick always seems to have a chip on is shoulder if it wasn't for Diane I believe their wouldn't be shop she is very nice lady and knows here stuff.
I have been to Wilderness archery met the owner really nice guy, his prices were a little high for my taste and I hate to see him close.
My very first bow I bought at Bass-N-Sport in Ypsilanti but I beleive they are stuck the past when it comes to technology advances. Dwight and Sharol are very nice people but the only thing I buy their now are my arrows because they are the only shop that I know that puts a hard helical on their arrows.
I started to go to Hog Wild when he had 1/3 of what is shop is now and I seen grow tramedously since then but my opion is that he carries the latest and greatest in bow technolgy and only carries product that he trust in. Off the top of my head he carries 10-12 different manufactures and can order anything you want if he cannot get he will make for you. Yes, I do agree that his hours are not the best but both him and his wife both work full time jobs besides the shop and they also travel to all the IBO shoots during the off season and Howard is also regional director of the IBO. He also does alot of charity and donations when ever he can including Boy Scout, Girl Scouts,
WWOW and also just help sponsor the Wal-Mart car show. I am not saying he the best but he is were I choose to go.
One last thing what do you think Adams was before they put their indoor range on? A garage....
Good Luck to All this Season and Be Safe,

to each their own, but when i used to shoot a wheelie bow i sure wanted a place i knew i could go to that would be open when i needed it most..but i guess for hog wild that is a good thing in having adams so close, anyone can go there 5 days aweek and get there bows fixed when they get in a jam...
good hunting
