I've seen it mentioned that certain broadheads might not be legal in all states and some states have maximum let-off %s on compound bows, I can't find any such information for Michigan. Are there restrictions on bows/type/details and broadheads?

There are no restrictions printed out in ink. Crossbows are illegal during bow season but apparantly are legal during rifle season. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I just read it in the hunting guide.

It is weird that MI doesnt seem to have anything specific on archery hunting rules.
In Oregon they have a whole section on % of let off thats legal, type of broadheads with diagrams to show you what is legal and not and even poundage for larger game. They require 65% let off and you cant shoot mechanicals or a barbed broadhead.

I remember when Colorado had a law against mechanicals. Back to Mi. There isn't a whole lot of anything in the guide about rules and regulations regarding equipment during archery season. So put on an exploding broadhead and go get some burger!

Michigan really has no restrictions when it comes to bows. You can hunt with from Oct. 1 - Jan. 1 during rifle season one have to obeyed by the hunter orange requirement. Also like some of you have mentioned the only hunters who can hunt with a cross bow during regular bow season is handicapped archers and the rest who want to hunt with a cross bow have to use them during rifle season only.
Thats all the major rules that I can think of right now.

Correct except for one minor addition I believe. During Archery season, a HANDICAPPED person CAN use a crossbow. Durring rifle season, ANYONE can use a crossbow.
