i question about arrow flight. i sited my bow in at 20 yards from the ground i will have my bait pile about 20 yards from a tree and my tree stand 25 feet up the tree the hypotenuse is 65 feet which is 21.6666 yards. does gravity have a different effect on the arrow when shot downward i dont have acsess to a raised platform so i cant check this
thanks

The actual point where your arrow hits should change very little. If you want to check this, make a rectangle and see what the distance change is from 20 or 25 feet up. What will make a difference though is where the arrow goes inside the deer! That is, although it may hit center of the lung, if you were on the ground, the arrow would continue to go straight, baring any deflection because of hit bone. But shooting from higher up means the arrow will still be going down through the deer and you may not get that double lung hit that you thought you made. Having said that, I still much prefer shooting from a tree stand. Good luck to you.

If you do not bend at the waist, and drop your bow arm to adjust the shot it will change your anchor causing you to shoot high. If you keep a "T" form and bend at the waist you should hit the same as your sighted in for.

It worked for me.

The effect of gravity on your arrow will be about the same as if you were shooting at a distance of 21.67 yards from the ground. When I hunted at a height of about 20 feet, I would place my bait pile at 19 yards and use my 20 yard pin. <----<<<
