That might be tough this early in the season. The bait shops have trouble keeping them alive in these warmer temps so they will tend to buy a heartier minnow (fatheads, mud minnows). I'd be surpised if you find them before the beginning of Oct but I hope I'm wrong. One place you might try is Mackey's by Decker's Landing on Anchor Bay Rd. It's a bit of a drive though. 794-9962 (not sure if that is a 586 or 810 exchange).

They had them at Blue Water Bait and Tackle about 3 weeks ago. Also try Anglers and Archers.

Possibly on the Detroit River. Edgewater bait. And you can get a receipt!! I called over to Edgewater. She said that they are only getting about 3 or 4 dozen shiners a morning right now. The river water is to clean. Once the water dirty's up a bit it makes catching bait much easier. The few dozen they get a morning go really fast so she said she would hate to have us run all the way over and be sold out. They are a great shop, with honest information.

I also spoke with Jim at Moes bait on Jefferson. He has goldens. He hopes to get some emeralds soon. He said to call this afternoon. 313-824-5222

Kevin I tried every place from lakeside to metro and the best I could come up with is golden shiners. Hell Lakeside only a half dozen of bass minnows when I stopped in there. That place is really horrible anyway.

If you find any shoot me a p.m.
