During the winter I keep my reels in the house but leave the rods in the garage. Does it hurt the rods to keep them in the garage?

As long as they aren't bent or leaning in a corner I'd think they should be fine.

Be careful the mice like to chew on the cork ;)

During the winter I keep my reels in the house but leave the rods in the garage. Does it hurt the rods to keep them in the garage? No unless its near a heat source. And as mentioned dont let them lean against anything that will cause them to bow. If your worried about mice take a gallon baggy and a rubber band and cover the cork handles. Myself I preffer to keep mine in the house, in the basement and I hang them with the little brass cup hooks. I also leave the reels with line on most of the time so I want them outa the sun, and in more consistant heat/humidity environment.

I too keep the rods and reels in the house. I do empty the line off the reels because mono has a tendecy to tighten on the spool and if it is not of good quality Aluminum or composite it can crush it. It can happen even on baitcasters.
