I live in Midland, and am going to join either the Bay or Midland County Sportman's Club. I have been to both, bot not a lot. Any opinions on either?

I've only been to Midland once. I've belonged to Saginaw Field and Stream which I really like. Saginaw Gun Club is alright, but only offers sporting clays, skeet and trap.

Erik,
I live in Midland and shoot at both clubs. The choice of which one is best to join would depend on your shooting interests. The Bay County Club is primarily a shotgun facility with many skeet ranges, sporting clays and trap shooting. I think they only have a small 100 yard rifle range which is rather primative.
On the other hand, The Midland club is geared more towards rifle and pistol shooting. They have both indoor and outdoor pistol ranges. They also have an excellent covered position outdoor rifle range with backstops at 25, 50, 100, 200, and 300 yards. They also have one of the state's few 600 yard ranges, if your into really long range shooting. On the other hand, Midland isn't into shotgun shooting in a big way. They do have one brand new skeet field, but I don't think their trap field is even operational.
Since I am primarily a hunter and rifle shooter and only an occasional skeet shooter, I belong to Midland, but shoot skeet at Bay County on a "guest shooter" basis (at a slightly higher price per round) That way I get the best of both worlds. Hope this helps.

Thanks, what you said re-affirms what I thought. I had the same thoughts on the two clubs. Like you I am primarily a rifle and hunting guy, and will be joining the Midland Club.
See ya at the range!
