Can someone please suggest somewhere I can build a free website. I am looking for a place to host it for a reasonable rate that has some nice workable templates so I can put a website together.

You can try Yahoo Geocities http://geocities.yahoo.com/home/. I don't like the "free" hosting though. They dont look very professional and they have a lot of adds & pop-ups. I put mine up on Yahoo Small Business Web Hosting http://webhosting.yahoo.com for something like $12 per month with my own domain(s). You get something like two dozen email addresses for your domain instead of one yahoo adress. (e.g. Tec@tec.com rather than tec@yahoo.geocities.com) The upload is easy and you can just use Frontpage and its templates (provided free by yahoo if you dont have it).

My only advice is to use the KISS (Keep It Simpe Stupid) principle. Too much info. on one page or too many graphics ruin the site's utility. If you have any ? PM me. I'm no expert but I designed & maintain two sites. One is http://rmlucas.com.

GODaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com)

I've got a few friends that use them, and are very happy with the service.

I bought all my domain names from Godaddy.com but I didn't check into putting a site up on there. I will though, thanks for the reminder.

Barry, can you post a lot of pics directly without links on the Yahoo business one you used as an example?

Yes. You just upload it as a seperate file along with the page itself. you can make that pic on the page a hyperlink to the actual picture file if you want a larger pic for viewing. You can also link to the pic directly if you wish.

Page: http://rmlucas.com/HISTORY.htm

Actual pic file: http://rmlucas.com/FirstTruck.JPG

There's no hyperlink on the page but it could be added easilly.

I hope this was what you were asking.

Go Daddy is a great site and has some really easy to use templates. I actually am the usability and research manager for one of the big three and manage, for the most part, how users interact with our sites. If you need any help let me know.

Nice looking site.

From what I gather it is not a commercial venture just a really cool place to hang out????
