Been reading the Colwater forum for quite some time, really enjoy it. Seems like a good group. I live in St. Joseph, and have been fishing and hunting the area for 30 years. I have especially taken an interest to fishing the the big lake now that I have a larger boat. Have two boys and a Bride. They love the water and woods equally. I live a mile from the St. Joe River and 1 Mile from Lake Michigan. Would not want to live anywhere else. Fished Monday aftenoon, had to run all the way out to 18ft to get started. Steehead were on the Pier Heads from the east and North winds. Took 3 Steelhead and 1 King, had 7 total on. Lagest steelhead was 14.5. Real jumpers they were. J-Plugs and red thin fins on boards, riggers were set down 3 and 10 foot with j plugs. Fished 4 hours and had to go in. The guys on both the north and south piers were doing very well. Charters were trolling up the channel. What a rush I love this time of year. (:
