I don’t know if I will get a permit for the fall hunt but does anyone have any tips or sites where I can learn about the fall hunt. If I draw it will be my first and I know nothing of fall turkey hunting.

Thanks

Dave

Come on guys...I am always occupied with Salmon Fishing, bear, deer and small game at that time of the year, plus we seldom have a fall hunt in my area...so I have nil as far as hands on Fall experience... One of our pros should be able to give up a few of their secrets!

I've never hunted Fall birds but this is what I am told.

Find birds......they like corn and grains and oaks and a gazillion other wild foods.
They tend to be in large groups.
Either set up to ambush them or bust the flock and call to them or not.
The birds will try to re group.
Flocks busted late in the day might not regroup til morning.
Scout scout and scout.
Find out what the birds are doing during the day.
Talk to the landowners if the birds are in the back corn of a field at 3:00 sneak out there at 2:00 and wait.
Plowed fields always have birds in them where I live.
That is all I really know
Oh if ya have a dog I think you can use them too.
I've had my dog point and flush birds really kinda cool to see them flush, they are BIG!
