:help: I'm thinking on putting my 14' fiberglass ( more like 13'2") in at Freeland and float down to the mouth of the Sag. river. How long will it take me? Should I leave my 18horse motor at home to lighten up the boat? I will be trying for Small Mouth Bass. Do you think I will have to get out of the boat to push it over the rocks?

Which mouth do you mean? Is it the bay or where the Tibb. and the Saginaw meet?

I will be putting in off us47 in Freeland on the Tipp. river and floating down to where the Tipp meets the Sag. River.

The river was running at 796 CFPS this morning, and 900 is consider low and slow. I'm guessing 6 hours or slightly more to just simply float along without any propulsion to move you along downstream. And you will see some pretty skinny water between Immerman and the M-46 bridge where you might have to dismount. I'd at least put some oars in the boat. :chillin:

Thanks for the info. on the float trip. I guess I will plan on 8 hours. I will leave the 18horse at home to make the boat lighter. I will have oars. Now to talk my bro-n-law into going with me.

To bad you don't have a little Minkota 65 or something along those lines. That would move you along perfectly for some precise casting and stop you in good looking places where you could consintrate. I'd also take a big cooler of drinks an umbrella and wear a pair of shorts to get cooled off occassionally. I've floated to many rivers in this heat, and it can be a nightmare if your in the sun constantly without some relief. :tdo12: :chillin:

You are right on the minkota. I had ore last year but someone needed it more then I did so it's gone. I put an add in the fore sell form for one but guess there's not one around now that people wants to part with cheap. Guess I will put the anchor in good looking spots. I did think of the cooler but not an umbrella or rain gear. Once you start a trip like that you are stuck with it. Hope to catch some S.M. bass and Walleyes. Thanks again.
