Started out today at the E bouy out from Bolles where we did real well last week. Worked that for 5 hours with only one keeper. Tons of small eyes, sheeps and white perch kept us busy, but no keepers.

Left at noon and went to the MI waters of the dumping grounds and trolled tot's in 13' of water. We put 6 more in the box in less than an hour!! We were running them 100 and 120 back. Purple and gold were the top colors.

I wish we had started up there!!

Good luck,

Captain Jay

That figures. I'm heading north this weekend for a much needed vacation with the family. I'll return in about 10 days to have another 10 days of fishing down here. Get 'em while the getting is good 'cuz it will shut down when I get back out there.:dizzy:

BTW, what speed are you trolling your tots at? Someone recommended about 2 mph to me. I ask 'cuz we were out Sunday and radio reports were of fishing being taken on tots but we couldn't touch a fish. The radio signal led me to believe we were fishing on top of one another but weren't having the same luck so I guess my speed was off.

I was running about 1.8 to 2.0 today. I think my lures were getting down to just about 13' deep. Every time we would run from 17 up the drop to 13 we would get fish on. Every once in a while we pulled in zebra muscles, so we were getting them right in their face on the bottom. We tried harnesses with bottom bouncers, but we could not keep the white perch off.

Thanks. I've only got one fish to hit a plug or spoon this year with all other fish coming on meat. That's not saying much since I've only been out half a dozen times for a newbie to this warm water thing.:p

Interesting observation-when you ran crawlers, you couldn't keep the white perch off. I have run into that fishing around the islands. It seems like the white perch and the 'eyes seem to like each others company. Where I have caught one, I generally catch the other.
