Apparently I can't buy a walleye. I fished the trough with 15 of my fellow anglers - watching several nice eyes go into the net. I did manage a couple huge cats - never thought a cat would his a #13 rappal. Tried some Gulp bait on a harness earlier on, man that stuff reeks :yikes:

How bad were the floating weeds? I fished the lake the friday before the air show and it was like trying to fish in a bowl of cole slaw..............haven't been back since.........

They really weren't that bad if you stayed in 15 fow or deeper.

Try #9 floating rapalas in 8-12 fow with just enough shot to touch tops of weeds at 1.5 to 1.8. Perch and silver shiner have been working well. Floating weeds haven't been a problem lately. Tim

Thanks Tim! I was using a perch, probably too deep. Far as perch fishing goes, I did see a guy anchored east of Johnson's point for about an hour and he was catching fish, I was too far away to see what species, but he didn't pull out the net.

Thanks for the "floating weed" report...I will be out on Friday night, running my "deep" program.

Timdog...check your PM ;)
