Wulp, not to good on the Bay today. Half day trip, landed 3 dink walleyes, 1 sheeper, a seagull (almost) and a catfish. Lost 4 other (somethings) behind the boat. But the good news is the water column is cleaning up nicely, the surface temps are down to the middle to low 70's and we were marking fish both high and low almost constantly today from 18 to 23 FOW. The picture I'm including was one I took off hand. There is about 6 fish in it, but you may have a hard time telling with my reflection on the face of the Lowrance. My next scheduled trip is Saturday, lets hope the bite returns. :grouphug:

Yeah, your mug is in the way but I see them. 2 up and 4 down at the bottom.

Little on the warm side wasn't it?

Are there two more at the left side of the screen, or is that something on the bill of your hat?

Good eye Gregg.

And I think your right. Even I can't make out that well all the fish in the original picture. There was one point where the screen had 15 or more on it at the same time, and I could not believe we were not getting some hits. Even the guys perch fishing today were marking fish that would not bite and complaining big time.

And Bob.

No offense taken. I'm thinking a regular film camera would not have processed such an ugly reflection.

Thanks Blackhawk.

I had a gut feeling yesterday (especially after observing all the marks high and low) that the meat program would have been better. But with a half day trip, and being 2 hours into it before that realization hit me, changing gears, boards and tackle would have ate up most of the clients valuable time doing so. I'm going back to the squids one side/blades the other, for the 1/2 day scheduled trip for Saturday. And thanks to all of you who try to help me out with a PM. Nobody ever gets to be that good, where he don't need the occasional :help: :chillin:

I was out there myself yesterday 8/2 from 9:30 til 4:00 and had one 14 1/2" dink, and wouldn't have known that was there until I seen the same thing walleye express seen, a seagull flying low taking a hard look at it. after releasing that fish we decided to try for some perch and only had a couple bites with no results.
I would also like to thank the gentelman that was out there and droped some minnows off to us, didn't catch his name and not sure if he's a member here...but THANKS for the minnows!

There are really just a few constants about walleyes and their habbits. The only agenda a walleye has is to Eat, Reproduce and Convert Oxygen. He will automatically search out the best places in any body of water to do these things when the need dictates. And if you noticed, it's when all three of these needs itersect at their optimum, that the best bites occurs. It's intercepting him, in or during any one of these seperate processes that becomes the tough part. Especially on a body of water over half a million square acres BIG. :tdo12: :gaga:

Ya i would think trying to catch a walleye while he's reproducing might be a little hard. He might be....reluctant.

Dan, when I was at Lk. Leelanau 2 weeks ago, I had some nice marks on my graph. Given the depth and cone angle, I was looking at about 13 ft of the bottom. The boat with the four rods I was using covered about 15ft. You would think at least one of those buggers would hit while the crawler harenesses were being dragged by. They had to see them, water clairity was at least 15 ft.
