I'd like to do some camping and fish for some small mouth bass and pike.

Which pond should I focus on? I haven't been there in a long, long time
and need some info. Would I use spinner baits or rapalas?

What campgound would you recommend? I'll be towing a boat so having
a DNR launch near by would be a plus.

Thanks in advance for your help and hints.

If your thinking about Tippy why don't ya give Hodenpyle a try. There is a beautiful campground there right on the edge of the pond and a real nice boat launch. It is full of smallies, pike and wallyeyes........

If ya need any info about Hodenpyle PM me.
Hodenpyle is only a few more miles than TIppy.

Ah , yes --- but Croton is teeming with Northerns & Small Jaw ALSO....
Depends which is closer to home , as both (actually all three) offer quality fishin' opportunities.

North of Grand Rapids about 45 minutes. Take 131 north fom I-96 to M-82, Howard City - Newaygo Exit. Go east about 7 miles to Elm ST, Road just before Fergusons Party store. Go to the T in the road, left takes you to the boat ramp, right takes you to the causeway. Good Luck

Fishbum sent ya a PM. Let me know if you got it or not cus the computer was acting funny. Actually sent the 1st one and acted like it didn't go so sent another.

Campground has a nice launch and a set of docks to tie up to up by where you camp. Beautiful area. Take a lot of pics.

The area I really like is to head towards the dam and once thru the narrows go towards the left and follow the shore and you'll see where the Seaton creek dumps into the pond. That area IN the creek has nice smallies and pike. Anywhere along the narrows on the drops is also good for smallies on cranks ripped along the drop.

Let us know how you did, post some pics. WATCH THE STUMPS..............
