I was checking out www.wardscollectibles.com (http://www.wardscollectibles.com) where they have alot of old shotshell boxes, old magazines and posters, decoys, ect.
This got me thinking what others out there collect.
When i was alot younger i had quite a beer can collection, was kinda a big thing back then, used to go to alot of beer can sell and trade shows, dont really hear much about that anymore.
I have a large outdoor magazine collection many from the 20's and 30's and a few Hunter-Trader-Trapper from early teens.
Just in the past few years ive been collecting Turkey Box Calls. They can get pretty expensive!!
I have alot of guns and fishin equip. too but thats a different kind of "collecting"!!;)

So what do you collect???

I am interested in all types of native american artifacts. Arrowheads, pottery shards, stone tools, etc. I don't really have a collection since most of the stuff I find are found at archaelogical digs so I can't keep them. Most items are worthless monetarily but I like them regardless.

I also seem to have a pretty good collection of ex-girlfriends and one ex-wife.

Knives. Custom Stag Bowies mainly. Like hobo knives too, you know, the ones with the knife, fork and spoons built in.
Old camping gear, lanterns and such.

I have 2 Marbles 1 of 1 , one of a kind, with a signed bill of sale from the owner of Marbles that are the crown jewels of my " collection ". 1 was custom made for me, a Trailmaker with burnt bone scales and rosewood inlays and the other, a Campcraft 2000 w/ a dyed boxelder handle that was made by a craftsman experimenting with different handle woods and tossed in a drawer and forgotten.
Never meant for sale. Was lucky enough to meet the owners on the 4th of July 2001 standing outside the shop and got to talkin. Got the grand tour and an offer to see a knife that nobody has ever seen before. Or ever will.
That was the Campcraft. Very nice and unique knife.
Any Marbles collectors out there know what it might be worth ??

I collect WWI WWII and Vietnam era military stuff. I try to stay focused in my collecting but too much stuff, too little time. Love it all. I get a kick out of the 20s and 30s era hunting pics and gear because so much WWI surplus was used. I have a couple of nice pics of items used by fellows during this period. Chris

Nothing too special, anything old and outdoors related.
Lately I tend to make stuff,to offset my affliction of buying junk.

You may want to sit down, for this! Antique clocks(1860s-1920s), Old hunting magazines(30s-50s), Old upland hunting paraphernalia(dog collars, hunting vests and so on), "Morton studio" dog figures, 30s-50s hunting dog art, Old upland hunting books and current, Knives(marbles, wovlerine, rapid river, to mention a few), Vintage log or wood furniture(20s-40s) and a whole lot of other stuff. That's just my stuff, my wife is at least twice as bad as I am, if not three times! She makes me look like an amateur. Which I am, I have never really been into collecting till I met her(and married her). Brian.

I collect Nascar memoriabilia and beer cans that wife would like me to get rid of.Anyone interested trade?(from 70+80's).Before i lost my job because of disibility,i had 4 Meyers boats and yes i used all of them for different lakes and Lake Erie when perch were in VERY close. Now that im thinking of it....maybe lifting them on and off truck might have helped my back to be as it is now .
Now that im thinking of it,i also ENJOY(better saying that cause wife read)
raising pet painted turtles,i donate to schools and in summer i get them back.
I also ENJOY Newfoundland dogs and items related to them, i have 3 of them. It might be time to ENJOY a pup soon as others are getting older.Great family pets and hair shedders :yikes:
I suppose i should collect carpet sweepers.
BTW.....im starting to feel like Fred Sanford

Well at this time I collect NRA memorabilia. Patches some pins, statues from Friends of the NRA, prints etc. I did colect WWII memorabilia for many years as I was a WWII reenactor for 16 years. My basement looked like a supply depot. My wife really loved that musty odor. I will say it was a hell of an investment and paid off rather well. Especially after SPR came out in 1997.

I do have a few pieces of memorabilia from my great grandfather St. Clair Willson who was one of the 1st Game Wardens in the U.P. Covering everything from Copper Harbor down to Land O Lakes Wi. and over to Ontonogon. Literally the west half of the U.P. I have his coat and hat, badge, few other things. He passed away in 1940 at the age of 65 and was still working. Anyway off subject, later!:)

Don't have the money to collect anything right being in college. But would like to collect older military guns. Nothing full auto though so I don't have to worry about FFL. Would like to start with US WW1 - Vietnam rifles and pistols and go from there.

Tecumseh,
I have a black bear skull my neighbor shot and was good enough to let me clean it, a bobcat, skunk, coon, possum, bird (don't know what kind).
I'd like to get a coyote, mink, hawk or any bird of prey, snake, etc. etc.
Oh yeah and a pig from a roast but it's in poor shape.

Not 100% sure on this one, but you might wanna check first before getting the bird of prey skulls. If memory serves, I believe that having pieces parts of those types of birds might be illegal.........just a " heads " up. :)

Actually it's a Federal offense. Even having feathers in posession is subject to 20 years and $250,000 in fines.

Thanks for the heads up.
Most of my collection is actually found while I'm hiking, so If I did come across a bird of prey skull it would be added to my collection with caution.

I really have not gotten into the collecting anything outdoor related but my collection seems a bit diffrent then the rest of you. I collected wooden nutcracker soldiers. I have close to 100 and they very in size and no two are identical they are from all over the world some from Germany, Canada, and through the U.S. from Alaska to Hawia. I have been collecting them since I was about 3yrs. old now I am 24 and I only display them during christmas but each one has a story or a memory behind it. Like I said it is diffrent but I think it is cool.
