Fished Lake Erie with my family this evning ,we had non stop action from 4 pm to 8:30 pm , put 137 perch in the cooler , with many JUMBO'S a 13 and 1/2 inch was our biggest , we had at least 20 fish over 10 inches most were in the 7 to 9 inch range . I've had many great days perchin on Lake Erie though the years , today was near the top . We had a 2 minute rule if 2 minutes went by and you have not caught a fish bring you line in , cause you have no bait . We were out near Spudnick .

Nice job Larry and Crew!

Chasing Kings out of Oscoda whenever I et the chance really has cut into my Perch Fishing. It has been a bunch of years since I went Perch Fishing on the soft water...and a bunch more since we caught numbers even close to what you did!

Thanks for bringing back some fond memories of a largely bygone era (for our family anyhow)...

Great job Larry!
That's a beautiful mess of yellow bellies ya got there!;)
For the past 6-10 years the Perch numbers have been waaaay down - but from what I've been seein' & hearin' (Where I fish there's been an AWESOME perch hatch - this yr.) , the perch are on the rebound :) & next year's perchin' should equal or surpass what's going on currently. They've been eating the Zebra Mussels and the pond doesn't have the numbers it did a few years ago~
My Wife & I , as well as a few friends have been hitting them pretty well in the past month - and if they keep up at this rate , I'm going to fill the freezer and stay inside this winter! (j/k)
NEMichsportsman , take some time & go git 'em!!;)
I think the glory days are a'comin' ........
Happy cleanin' , happy eatin' !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Guy's ,
The kids and I just spent 2 hours and 15 mins cleaning and bagging perch . I hoping the good old days of perch fishin are here , most years I don't start to target perch till late August , this July in 5 trips to ERIE we've almost put 300 perch in the boat , what I'm most happy with this year is that the size seems way up over last year . I can thank the poor salmon fishing on Lake Huron this year , to be out perchin , or I'd be chasing salmon and trout it is very nice to be filling the freezer full of perch .

Hope to get the boat running this week so we can make the run out to Sputnik. Hoping to get out Thursday morning. Were you using the big shinners cut in half?

Jim,
We got fish cleaning down to a science here , we got a very effcient assembly line going , evryone gets there hands dirty except the war department(Shari) and the baby . Ryan has become pretty good with the fillet knife . With the number of perch we had to clean I thought we knocked em out pretty quick . My new electric knife is still at the store , mine old ONE died last year . I been cleaning the old fashioned way teaching Ryan , I just might ask santa for a new one this year . Glad to hear the boat is running fine now .

Went out of Sterling 24ft got 2 walleyes threw 4 back with dipseys and scorpion spoons with larger scorpion as the flasher spoon. I then made the 9 mile run to Spunick just to find out I left my Ohio license in my Maumee bag what a bummer there must have been 200 boats there went back to try to find the perch in 23ft at Sterling but not good. It is only so often that I will take that ride over to Sputnick I was really bummed out but whatever.
