Pike fishing... Where???

I'm looking for a good lake or two that have pike or muskie fishing in them around the Grand Rapids/West Mi. area... Anywhere within an hour???

Muskellunge lake in Trufant, Rainbow lake, Tamarack lake Lakeview.

You can't go wrong on Muskegon Lake. Pike are very numerous, large and almost always very hungry.

I've had good luck in the winter months with pike on White Lake right next door to Muskegon. Plus they're both only about an hours drive from GR.

I've had great success with Reeds Lake this year. Lots of hammer handles, but quite a few big fish tossed in. Murray Lake has pike, although muskie probably draw more action. I've also done well at Lincoln Lake in northeastern Kent County. Green Lake just south of Kent in Allegan County supposedly carries a decent population of pike. Ciscoes are found here also, and that means big pike.

the grand is working good pike the last day or two we got a 25 and a 30 '' northern pike today and only was out a little over a hour with drive time to and from home here on the N.W. grand rapids. steve k8vol.

The mentioning of these lakes brings back a flood of memories of my youth fishing with my dad.

Green Lake does have ciscoes (if you eat them don't freeze them). While it's pike population has never been huge the fish that are there tend to be dandies. At least that is what it was like back in the 50s-60s.
