I am looking for recommendations for a lake with cabin rentals for August 2006. There are 6 in our family. I have been thinking about going to Eastern/Central UP or Northern LP. I would like a lake with good walleye and perch fishing. I only have a 14' boat, so probably would not want a real big lake. Any information anyone can send my way will be apppreciated. Thanks!

central U.P.>>>>Au Train lake................eastern U.P.>>>>>>>>>Milakokia lake..............northern lower>>>>>>>Paradise(carp) lake.........all have reasonable perch and walleye populations..all have resorts that could accomodate you. Autrain at 900 acres, the other 2 at roughly 2000 acres..big enough to grow fish of decent size, small enough for your boat.

Depends on how North you want to go. But I would reccomend Lac Labelle lodge (http://www.pasty.com/lodge/). The lake is an excellent walleye fishery and also has a decent perch population. It is about 6.5 hours from the bridge I think, so it would be a haul. Beautiful country though.
