I have a evinrude 70hp 4 stroke my no oil light keeps coming on and the alarm goe's off for 30 sec and the motor won't go over 3000 rpms and then slowed down to where you could not give it gas it would stall out and the engine was full of oil. I changed the ecu and the oil pressure sensor switch and change the oil and filter and still when I turn on the motor the no oil light come's on the alarm goe's off In the maunal it said thay no oil light doe's not pertain to this motor because it don't have a oil reservoir it's for 2 stroke the light. Any body have any suggestions? What a problem when I'm suppose to fish the FLW league walleye tour saturday as a boater.

try the boating and boat rigging forum. Seems to be alot of good advice on repairs there.

Not knowing the year of your outboard, is there a "computer" or "brain" unit that has it's own power source ? It seems that it is stuck or "remembering" the alarm mode of a "low oil" situation. Could it possibly need to be "re-set" somehow ? A different suggestion may be that you do indeed have a issue with the oil actually NOT circulating or building pressure within the motor which would obviously create a warning scenario immediately upon start up. Just a couple quick thoughts. Good luck. Check out the manufacturers website for a "FAQ" section or send a email to them directly.
