I would like to learn Wabasis LK. I'm from the Lansing area and have heard this is a good all fish lake. Anyone in the area that will teach a old dog the lake and how to fish it ?????? I would like to focus on EYE and Pike & bass,
but mostly on EYE's. I will stay in area if you want to fish early,my boat or yours. Also I heard that Lincoln LK. is a good lk. :fish:

i think they gave up on the eye program in wabasis...would have better luck elsewhere for those methinks...
crappies, bluegills and bass on the other hand...

Skip the Bass. Gander mountain has thier tournament there once a month. % fish limit is about 8lbs. As for Gills and crappie i have not had any luck myself. I have not targeted them that full fledged on there yet. Be prepared you will see the bottom of the lakes from the PWC. They can shake that lake up pretty bad.

Yeah, the lake gets busy when it's hot, and there are tournaments there on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. But, if you want to fish it, concentrate on the weed lines and sharp drop offs for both the bass and the pike. I have not heard of anyone catching much in the way of eyes out of there though.

Wabasis has never really proved its worth to me for any species. Lincoln lake on the other hand has always been good. I fish for pike and bass, targeting the weeded breaklines all around the lake. For walleye, try the sunken islands. Here's a link for the contour map: http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/SPATIALDATALIBRARY/PDF_MAPS/INLAND_LAKE_MAPS/KENT/LINCOLN_LAKE.PDF
