My sister in law is going to rice lake on friday. Can any body give me some pointers that I could relay to her. They will be staying at southview cabins. Just wondering were to tell them to start fishing thanks.

I stayed at Elm Grove Cabins a few years back, eyes on crawlers and harnesses/erie dearies in the open water, jigs with crawlers in the weedy areas.

Plenty of panfish on leaf worms, bass on cranks/spinnerbaits.

We did not go very far to find fish, maybe 1000 yards and never had to leave sight of the cabins to keep on active spots.

Tell em to watch for the Ospreys early and late, it is an awesome sight to see em hunting!

I was just there 2 weeks ago, you will catch as many bluegills as you want to clean. We caught the bigger gills on the outside edges of the weed beds and around the islands, mainly in 8-12 foot of water. We normally bring 1500 - 2000 wax worms for 6 of us. Don't bother with a bobber just drop your line over the side of the boat. Also caught lots of bass on the weed beds (mostly on top water baits). We did best around Margaret's island for bluegill and Mcgregors bay for bass...Good luck..
