Okay, I bought the deluxe bisquit for aluminum arrows ( I shoot carbon but was going off recommendations I had seen here for reducing sliding noise). I hope I didn't mess up as I don't think mine is one of the second generation BSII's with the brown and black whiskers. Those experienced should I get the newer generation and hold off. This was on sale and I believe I cant return it now. Are these hard to mount by yourself? Any tips for getting one mounted? I really was hoping to get away from the old prong rest I had.

You can get a newer B2 replacment disc for around $17 . I would recommend it because of the softer brown bristles that are more forgiving and easier on the fletchings .
The WB is the easiest rest I have ever setup . Just line the arrow up with the plunger button hole ,set the centershot ,and you are good to go . Here are some tech tips from their website . You can also download a installation video from the tuning tips section of the website .

Keep in mind that the main difference between the the old whisker biscuit (all black) and the new one (brown and black bristles) is the impact on fletching wear. I guess the new one is a little quieter, but they both make noise when pulling a lot of arrow brands through them.

I bought a new style Biscuit last year and quickly realized that it was way too loud with my black Carbon Express CX's. I tried linseed oil, carnuba wax per some recommendations, but still couldn't quiet the arrow enough. I swithced to Beman ICS Hunter's per recommendations of some Whisker Biscuit users and they are virtually silent with the new Whisker Biscuit due to the finish on these arrows. I guess some other arrow brands are pretty quiet with this rest, but I am not sure which ones. It's a nice simple hunting rest, but if I were shooting 3-d or anything competitive I wouldn't use it.

I second getting one of the newer ones.
When using aluminum arrows I don't get any noise. (I use Easton's game getter arrows)

I still shoot the old style, I shoot alum. and I have a few carbons that I shoot just for fun, yes they a hard on fletchings but I get NO noise with either type of arrow NONE-at all on draw or release.

I have used black Carbon Express , Easton Epics , Easton Excels , Gold Tip XT Hunters . I have never had any noticable noise from any of the arrows . They key is mounting the biscuit good and square to the arrow shaft .If there is any tilt forward or backward with the rest and the arrow draws across the fibers at an angle ,there will be more noise .
Arrows with Buff Tuff camo will have more noise due to the textured finish .

Wow, that is surprising about the CX's. I believe I set the rest up properly. Didn't have a problem when I drew the Beman's through it. There were numerous people on the Eders website complaining about arrow noise from the Biscuit, which is where I got most of the recommendations on how to solve the problem. Maybe when you used the Carbon Express' when your Biscuit was broken-in and it wasn't as noisy, or we have different definitions of what a noisy arrow rest sounds like.
